Online Climbing Guide to Hatcher's PassThe original version of this guide used to be on the web at http://library.thinkquest.org/13779/where/guide/hatchers.shtml but it went down a while back and hasn't come back up, so this is my attempt at putting this information back on the web. Only the site layout and any images marked with the morffed.com logo are mine. Most of the images, maps, and the climbing guide format itself are not mine, but were printed off the original site, scanned in by me, and in some cases modified to make them work better. If you have any information regarding the creator of the original site, or the original author of the guidebook, Mark Hall, I'd appreciate it if you'd contact me at no_rock_too_steep@hotmail.com so I can contact them about getting more information and making this guide better. Below is the text from the original site. This is the electronic version of the guidebook of Hatcher's Pass climbs by Mark Hall. All pictures and photographs are the work of Mark Hall. Mark has asked us to put together this electronic version of the guidebook so that it can be made widely available. This site is still under construction, and may be constantly under construction for quite some time. It takes hours to add one section of 24, and I haven't even started to add pics yet. The printed ones are no good for being scanned in, so I'll have to get to Hatcher's soon and get my own pics, but that won't be possible till next month or so. For now, only the topos are available. If you have a specific area you would like information on, please e-mail me and I'll work on that one next. 5-16-04 update: Apparently the old guide has come back online, so this work here isn't needed anymore. I'll leave the site up just in case, but the whole guide is available at the link above. 7-2-03 update: I just spent ten days in Hatcher Pass, and met up with Kristian Sieling, who runs www.globalmotion.org and happens to be writing a guidebook to Hatchers, so it was rather opportune for me to get a chance to climb with him. He's definately working hard to get this info out, so hat's off to him. I have also recieved a .pdf version of the original guide, so until I get all these topos scanned in and pictures to match them to make my own .pdf, that one is available. Thanks to Jeff Schively for that. |
