  • Our travels brought us to Moab, Utah, the center for everything outdoors. We crashed with our friend Larry who, although he was working while we were there, offered us great beta on local climbs and sights. Above is Landscape Arch in Arches National Park.
  • The Southwest is an interesting part of the country, in many places filled with red rocks and green plants which starkly contrast each other under the hot sun.
  • Delicate Arch is one of the prominent features of the Utah landscape. Photographers literally flock to shoot pictures of it.
  • We made the shorter hike to the more distant viewpoint to shoot photos of Delicate Arch this trip, with every intention of coming back and seeing it close up in the future.
  • Kelsey stands atop Turret Arch. The rules prohibit technical climbing on any of the major formations in the park, but we figured if you can climb it in sandals, it must not be technical.
  • Ancient Art is a feature I had seen a few photos of and instantly wanted to climb, so this trip we made it happen. Here's Kelsey gearing up at the base.
  • The corkscrew summit of the <i>Stolen Chimney 5.11</i> route on Ancient Art is a fantastic section of easy climbing with mind-blowing exposure all around.
  • Kelsey stands high on a two foot summit with three hundred feet of air wherever he steps.
  • Another amazing formation we decided we had to climb was <i>The Cobra 5.11R</i>, a smaller tower just as impressive and fun.
