  • Brian takes a turn drilling bolts for the anchors on this new route.
  • A hand drill takes a long time to make a hole big enough for a bolt.  Dust flies with every hit as Brian works the bit.
  • A few quick blows with the hammer wedges the bolt into the rock.
  • A hanger is put into place, and the bolt is tightened down, a solid and subtle piece of the landscape for years to come.
  • Brian drops down the rappel, eying holds on our new route.
  • A nearby mild overhang proved too chossy to ascend.
  • Brian works a few tricky moves through the steep portion of the route.
