• To finish the day off, we decided to climb Twinkie, a 5.12a reputed to be the steepest 5.12 in the Red. It's overhung some enormous unmeasurable angle and is very intimidating. • Kelsey takes to the air on a fall from Twinkie 5.12a.
• The light was low under the giant roof, but as the rain started falling heavily outside our quiet protected shelter, Kelsey climbed onwards.
• A blurry Kelsey drops downwards on another fall from Twinkie 512a.
• Finally the shirt comes off as Kelsey gets warm despite the rainy weather in the gorge this day. The massive overhang keeps him dry on Twinkie 5.12a.
• Kelsey crawls as far as he can onto a huge ledge for a bit of a rest on Twinkie 5.12a.
• A ledge takes Kelsey entire forearm, giving him a solid stance to clip from on Twinkie 5.12a.
• Finally at the anchor of Twinkie 5.12a, Kelsey takes a glance back down at his belayer.
• Thinning fall foliage obscures the cloudy sky as Kelsey prepares to rappel from Twinkie 5.12a.
• Another day starts out in the early afternoon with some lower temperatures. Here's Kelsey eying his route, shot through a chimney.
• Lacking a great vantage point, I shot through the branches of nearby trees as Kelsey climbed this route.
