  • A seagull moving along with the boat on the way to Alcatraz.
  • Alcatraz approaches, ancient buildings and rubble on a little piece of rock.

  • Ancient guardrails show their age, coming to pieces with time.
  • Nature takes small steps to reclaim the walls of concrete and brick.
  • The walls of Alcatraz are slowly coming apart.
  • No more locks to keep people on one side or the other of this hatch.

  • A massive and very photogenic water tower looms large over the whole island.
  • Hundreds of people lived in these little boxes for quite a few years.
  • Rows upon rows of cages for the animals.
  • Three prisoners escaped through this method and were never seen again. Gutsy.
