  • Trees lightly shadow the trail as we head back down off the wall.
  • The massive entrance of Beijing West train station towers overhead.
  • An enormous truckload of fresh fruit is laid out in a stand along one of the small hutongs.
  • I may be an American, but I know what is and is not a banana.  They're not fooling me!

  • The winter chill keeps a woman under covers in a tunnel passing under the road.
  • Beijing's West train station rises enormously above the surrounding streets, giving the impression more of a castle of sorts than a national hub of transportation.
  • Local street vendors hawk their wares even in the frigid chill of a December evening.
  • There is no way to represent the hustle and clamor of Beijing's West train station, but while waiting for our train to Chengdu I gave it a bit of an effort.
