Sunday evening, having been delayed by doctor and police business, we visited a small outreach church near Malawi, where we had a short worship service. Bro. Mitch helped put this building up several years ago, and the warm welcoming spirit when stepping inside on its dirt floor was pretty awesome.

2015Malawi

Ray in the front passenger seat when we were T-boned at road speed and rolled over.<br /> <br /> At the beginning of this trip I spoke to a church about all the struggles that were suddenly heaped on us as soon as we decided to come to Malawi. Financial issues, a car that died, tenants moving out just as we leave, and also a friend being murdered, all in a week. When you're doing something for the Lord you can expect to be attacked, but the one who stands by us is still in control, so when you consider all these things with a spiritual mindset, these issues are not something to be worried about. In fact, I welcome these trials as an opportunity to show off the glory of the God I serve.<br /> <br /> Since arriving in Malawi, just last week Bro. Stephen Kalua Jr., who has been helping us with a number of thing on this trip, rolled his vehicle swerving around a man standing in the road in thick fog. He walked away without a scratch, and once they got his car back on its wheels it was fine too.<br /> <br /> Then last night we had this little incident. Like I said, Tracy was seated against this door with no seatbelt when we were struck by a vehicle without more than second or so of warning. We rolled onto the left side of the van and came to a stop, and the extent of Tracy's injuries are a couple of scratches on her shoulder and arm and a cut on her knee. No injuries to her head, neck, or back. Bro. Ray has a cut on his elbow that took three stitches, and I'm completely fine. A local pastor is a doctor and brought the injured ones to his clinic and took care of everything. While dealing with the accident, we met a wonderful Christian couple who said they were guided by the Holy Spirit to stop, and who helped us a ton and will be joining us for dinner tonight, a police officer who was studying the bible and was very interested in what we are doing and what we believe, and a traffic officer who is a relative of the brother who owns the van, although they haven't seen each other in many years and live hundreds of kilometers apart in a country with millions of people. Coincidences? I doubt it. The Lord uses things like this for his glory, and I'm thankful to be a part if I can just help one person come closer to God. As for the perceived difficulties involved in these situations, I leave those in God's hands, and he takes care of me, over and above, every time.
